Land Acknowledgment
We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we operate and gather is the traditional territory of the Indigenous peoples who live in the Southwestern Ontario area. We recognize their ongoing relationship with the land and respect their culture, history, and sovereignty.
We recognize that the land we occupy and utilize is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. We honour and respect the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous peoples and their traditional territories.
We acknowledge the wrongs committed against Indigenous peoples, including forced removals, residential schools, and other forms of colonialism. We understand that these injustices have had a profound impact on Indigenous communities and continue to affect them today.
We recognize our responsibility to uphold the treaty rights and obligations of Indigenous peoples, and to work towards reconciliation and healing. We commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge, values, and perspectives, and to creating a more just and equitable society for all.
As we continue to operate and gather on this land, we recognize our ongoing relationship with the Indigenous peoples of this territory. We honour their history, culture, and sovereignty, and pledge to work towards a future of mutual understanding and respect.
